Insidious

 Insidious Is...

A horror film that begged to be different. Insidious stood out to me as a classic film. Not because the story was original or the decent acting, but because of the music. The menacing scream of several violins, or a burst of sound coming from an unexpected scene, or even the creative use of Tiny Tim's "Tiptoe through the tulips." (Which is now quite the horrifying song to listen to if you ask me.)

There's a clash of ghosts and demons - all fighting to reside inside one little lost boy.

The creators of Paranormal activity, and Saw had all hands on in this project. Which is what I would assume with the easy home sets, the casual lighting - which was done really well - and the cheaper, but looming shots they created all seemed to reflect bits of their previous work. I was pleased with the originality, and guts they had to play things the way they did.

So, I am looking forward to "Sinister." Hoping the originality and decent work will be found in the same film.
