Shrink

 the doctor is out.

Easily close to saying, one of my favorite movies. But then again - I find Kevin Spacey to be one of the most talented actors I've ever had the pleasure to watch. Throw him in with a character distressed, unable to help his patients, all dealing with the terrible downside to something as terrible as suicide. The story is shown through the eyes of many different characters. Spacey being the main outlook. While all wonder why we do the things we do, how we can bare to leave the ones we love, or how we can go on experiencing and feeling nothing at all.

There is so much pain in so many things we do. Some choose to check out, while many find the gift to move on and grow. There's definitely a strong contrast in those that can step forward and those that chose to live in the past. Your mind begins to slip, your heart becomes heavy, and eventually the sadness kills you. Or what's left of you. Sometimes we need someone, or something to happen to use to finally move us through the right door. In this case it seems that everyone in the story falls to hope on Keke Palmer (Jemma)

I love films where there is an eclectic mix of intelligent characters. In the end they've all taken me on so many journeys that I don't know quite where I am - I remain lost in whatever story they were telling me, and to me, that's the best feeling in the world.

Year: 2009
Rating: R
Actors: Kevin Spacey, Jack Huston, Robin Williams
My R: I recommend this to anyone who finds someones story of sorrow, interesting, or hopeful.
