Expendables 2

Back For War.

They wasted no time in diving into high powered action. And I am not easily impressed by action movies. I feel like they are only meant to distract, and become filled with holes, and that by the time it's over - no sense was made.

But, I paid to see this movie in theaters twice. Because I liked it. A lot.

Now, I have to admit my crush on several actors increased through the film, including a new one for Sly. It's... strange I know, but just ignore me if I get a little weird.

First rule of business: I was very glad to see more screen time with Bruce and Arnold. That was my one complaint about the first film, it was more of a lead on... than actual inclusion. But I was happy to see familiar faces, even if one or two left early in the film. And let's not forget that there is always, always room for Chuck Norris jokes. Actually, there is no limit to the jokes in this film, I can only wish there were more. When they turn around and make fun of one another's past action characters, I find it very amusing.

Besides the well played action, I love the character Barney Ross. He's so deep and slightly intellectual that I kind of fall in love with him. One, his obsession with skulls almost matches mine, and two, he's an old man wondering why he lives when others die. To me, he is a good man. With a strange mustache.

Statham will never go out of style as an action man, and if he does, then the world has ended, because it's simply not possible. And while I am not a wrestling fan, I enjoy Couture's role in the film, as well as Li, Lundgren, and Crew. All great, great action stars.

My only complaint is the film quality seemed lacking in a few frames. I don't know whether it was editing for actions shots, trying to make our men look a little younger than they are, or what - but it was slightly bothersome. However, I would love to share a cigar with Barney Ross and pick his brain about death and honor.

Also, Jean-Claude Van Damme, always a brilliant villain.

Year: 2012
Rating: R
Actors: Every action star known to man. And Chuck Norris.
My R: Go see it, and take anyone who isn't afraid of a little blood.
