May the odds be ever in your favor...
Now, and movie with a dystopian society and a revolution around the bend? Sign me up. It's always exciting to see oppression become crushed and the underdog's destiny fulfilled.
I did read the series before seeing the film. While I thought the film was incredibly well done, I can't speak for those who didn't know the back story from reading the books. Both experiences would likely be different, and I can only speak from my perspective.
For a gory book, the film did well to play to all sorts of audience. I mostly favored the distance Katniss held towards the capitol. As if she hated them for ever minute they made her play that game. Peeta Mellark to me was that glimmer of innocence, someone who doesn't stand a chance up against 22 people and 1 friend, all killers.
All in all, this film was well done, so much that I think anyone can enjoy it. The story of an uprising society is always something we slaves of society crave.
