The Fifth Element

The Fifth is Life

Easily one of my favorite Sci-fi movies of all time. Not only am I an action fan of anything Bruce Willis, but I just have this polite little crush in Milla Jovovich, and Gary Oldman - but that's a different story entirely.

A futuristic society, threatened by one thing: pure evil. Set on the destruction of Earth. The argument being made that it is really a stance on encouraging life, by creating a little destruction... but loss is loss, and no one wants to see their home destroyed.

While human intention is questioned, it is also made out to be the most fragile and special thing of all. Life is important. No matter how small. Things like love, families, hope. The supreme being is created to protect these things, because Leeloo is in fact life itself.

Of course a good man would fall for her. A good man's intentions lie within protective instinct, and any human that doesn't have the instinct to protect life - isn't a human at all.

Rating: PG - 13
Year: 1997
Actors: Bruce Willis, Milla Jovovich, Gary Oldman, Ian Holm, & Chris Tucker
