I think my mask of sanity is about to slip.

Alas, a chilling psychotic thriller that is engaging from beginning to end. I think we all have a likeness withing ourselves that enjoys looking through the minds of others, (Why else would Being John Malkovich, be a movie?) What's more exciting than watching through the eyes of a serial killer? Not because we all long to murder some random transient, but because their mind is emotionless. Only experiencing annoyance or anger, but never compassion, or happiness. Sometimes happiness and compassion bring ourselves sorrow, and some of us truly wish to just forget - but if we did - how would we control ourselves?
That is one question Patrick Bateman came to struggle with. He rested his mind on a late night hunger for blood, while still maintaining a collected mask during the daytime. However, he is keen and smart enough to notice when the mask begins to slip off - and he can't control it, he knows he can't, so doesn't even try.
Can't we as human recognize right and wrong? How does that get lost in the minds of textbook psychopaths? They don't sense compassion, only a greed, or a lust for money or sex. Truly driven by their
Id, and their Id alone.
Year: 2000
Rating: R
Actors: Christian Bale, William Defoe
My R: Definitely worth seeing. If you don't mind blood, or Christian Bale swinging a chainsaw whilst naked.
