The Possesion

"Fear The Demon That Doesn't Fear God"

Not a big fan of your typical demon-drama. While I do enjoy a dark tale, ranging everywhere from blood & gore, to ghosts and demons. But it is very, very, very rare to find a well done horror film. I am happy to say this film was decent in that category. The acting was well done, which isn't an easy thing when working with children, and the parents both played their parts well. And rather than a priest and a bible, we get to see a Rabbi and a Jewish ritual. Jewish faith, something I respect very highly.

Now while some facial expressions may have been a bit too much, or perhaps the concept itself a little odd. It's a work of fiction based on an actual Dybbuk Box, but not actual events. And while possession is a strange thing within itself, many may completely believe it, while others full find it ridiculous, those stereotypes aside...

It's an unbelievable feeling to lose a child. And to watch it unravel from beginning to end - isn't easy for someone to do nothing. A father, despite his setbacks, knows somethings wrong and will go to any and every length to save and protect his daughter. This is where I found enjoyment in the movie, the father wasn't neglectful doing every possible thing wrong, he was suspicious, and tentative until he could figure out what was going on.

My R: Now, if you're looking for a thrill, rent this movie and watch it at home. It was a well-made exorcism film that does well in portraying evil and darkness.
