Tim Burton's: Corpse Bride

A Grave Mistake has been made.

Now, I am a widely noted fan of Tim Burton. His creepy-macabre work leaves me mystified. And creative colorful characters make me happy. His insight into how each mind of his characters plays a big part in understanding his work and what he's trying to say.

One of the things I quite loved was the portrayal of the living vs. the dead. The living dressed in gray and black are short of nothing but being dead themselves, while the dead - in the afterlife there are vibrant full colors to be enjoyed. Almost as if to say death is not so scary, death is the fun part. It's the living that aren't really living.

And now, the character I am most excited with: Emily. (Bonham-Carter) A woman who's dream was torn from her, a dream of true love with a nice man. She has spent an eternity waiting for someone to come along, someone who will love her, and then... she met Victor.

Year: 2005
Rating: PG
Actors: Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham-Carter
My R: Worth seeing, full price wherever you see it.

  1. I'm a new Tim Burton fan. I've watched him for years, but only recently recognized the threads that pull his movies together.
